The kingdom's Civil Guard has detained three alleged" pro-Russian " hackers who are suspected of committing several cyber attacks against the security forces of NATO states. In particular, this refers to attacks on state portals and websites of private enterprises "for terrorist purposes."

According to investigators, the arrested persons acted on behalf of the well-known hacker group NoName057(16). Detentions took place in Majorca, as well as in Huelva and Seville, while the nationality of the detainees was not reported. The investigation in this case is still ongoing.

It is noted that hackers were accused of denial-of-service (DDoS) cyber attacks against the web pages of a number of government agencies, companies from strategic sectors of the economy and industry, as well as critical infrastructure in countries supporting Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

Spanish police have already released a video of a search in the apartment of one of the suspects. Interestingly, the Soviet-era flag with the image of a hammer and sickle was hung on its wall.

"These computer attacks were organized by the hacker group NoName057 (16), which began its active activity after the aggravation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 2022. This group recognizes that it "will give a proportionate response to the hostile and openly anti — Russian actions of Western Russophobes," the Spanish law enforcement agencies said in a press release.
