The Prosecutor's office of the Soligorsk district supported in court the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 23 – year-old local resident-he was charged with unauthorized access to computer information, accompanied by a violation of the security system, committed out of self-interest.

It was established that the accused, who was fond of computer games, illegally took possession of his friend's virtual gaming equipment on March 24, 2023.

In particular, using his own desktop computer, a young man, using the email data of a friend known to him, contacted the support service of an online gaming service without his permission and consent. After gaining access to a friend's account, he moved all of his virtual gaming equipment and inventory to an online trading platform. Subsequently, the defendant's e-wallet received 7,000 Russian rubles for selling the victim's gaming equipment, which he transferred to his bank card.

At the hearing, the young man pleaded guilty in full.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the Soligorsk District Court issued a guilty verdict. On the basis of Part 1 of Article 349 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the accused was sentenced to restriction of freedom without being sent to an open-type correctional institution for a period of 1 year and 6 months.

In accordance with Article 46-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the court applied a special confiscation: a stationary computer belonging to the accused, as a means of committing a crime, was withdrawn free of charge to the state.

The verdict came into legal force.
