- the "MasterCard" logo, which is two intersecting circles of red and yellow colors with the word "MasterCard" on their background;
- the "MasterCard" hologram is a three-dimensional image of continents against the background of a repeating multicolored "MasterCard" text visible to the naked eye. There is no meridian grid, its position may vary depending on the card type;
- an embossed card number starting with the digit "5" and consisting of 16 digits: "5XXXXXXXXXXXXXX", the last four digits of the card number must be embossed on a hologram;
- the bank's BIN is specified in a typographic way (similar to VISA)-;
- after the card expires, the "MC" security symbol must be printed in flying italics;
- the validity period of the card can be stamped starting and ending, for example, 10/96-10/98, or only ending, for example, 10/98; the digits of the validity period are preceded by the inscription "Valid Thru" or "Valid Dates"; the card can be issued for a period of 1 month, 1 year, 2 years and rarely for 3 years;
- the letters " M "and" C " visible on the front side of the card in ultraviolet light;
- personal data of the Cardholder (first name, last name) is printed by embossing;

on the reverse side
- there must be an inscription "ICA" and a 4-digit number.;
- magnetic strip soldered into plastic, not pasted on;
- the signature panel must contain the Cardholder's signature clearly (not erased or blurred).;
- on the signature panel, the text is slanted with the repeated words "MasterCard", written in blue, red and gold colors;
- in the center of the signature panel, the last four digits of the card number and three digits of the security code (CVC 2) are printed in reverse slant printing.

Attention!!! Since 01.06.2006, MasterCard cards of a new design have been put into circulation.
The following changes have been made for the new design cards:

on the front side
- the standard hologram is missing or located on the back of the card on the left side of the card;
- missing card security symbol (MS);
on the reverse side
- on the reverse side of the card there is a magnetic holographic tape (if there is no hologram on the front side) containing:
three-dimensional spheres in 2 alternating colors;
a point in the background is aligned when the card is rotated;
the MasterCard label is clearly visible;
the rings around the spheres are made up of the "MC" microtext.
- The three-digit CVV2 code can be moved from the signature strip field to a designated place (next to the signature panel).
2.3.3. For MasterCard Debit cards
MasterCard Debit cards have the same distinctive features on the front and back as MasterCard cards.
Differences:
on the hologram, instead of a three-dimensional image of continents against the background of the repeating multicolored text "MasterCard" visible to the naked eye, a three-dimensional image of two circles with the inscription Debit on them against the background of the repeating multicolored text "MasterCard Debit"visible to the naked eye.

2.3.4. For MasterCard Electronic cards

on the obverse
is the logo "MasterCard", which is a two intersecting circle of red and yellow with the words "MasterCard Electronic" in their background;
- hologram MasterCard is a three-dimensional image of the continents on the background of the repeating visible to the naked eye multicolor text MasterCard, Meridian mesh is missing, its position may vary depending on the type of card;
- card number: full, starting with the digits "5577" and consisting of 16 digits: "5577 XXXX XXXX XXXX", or short, use the last four digits of card: "XXXX";
- personal data of the card Holder (name, surname), the card number and expiration date are applied by laser or printed but not elbassiouny;
- printing method listed first four digits of the card -"5577";
- after the expiry date of the card should be printed, but not ambassasor, "flying italic" protective symbol MC;
the validity of the card can be printed start and end validity, for example, 10/96 - 10/98, or just end, for example, 10/98; the figures of validity is preceded by the words "Valid Thru" or "Valid Dates"; the card can be issued for 1 month, 1 year, 2 years and rarely 3 years;

on the reverse side
- there must be an inscription "ICA" and a number of 4 digits;
- a magnetic strip soldered into plastic, and not pasted;
- the signature panel must have a clear (not erased, not smeared) signature of the Cardholder.;
- on the signature panel, the text is slanted with the repeated words "MasterCard" written in blue, red and gold colors;
- on the signature panel, the last four digits of the card number and three digits of the security code (CVC 2) are applied in reverse slanting printing.
