The young man deceived ten citizens from different regions of the country in two months. Investigators informed the offender of the suspicion. He faces up to three years in prison.

In the police department No. 4 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1, an Odessa resident turned and said that he ordered a car "VAZ" from one seller on a well-known online ad platform, paid a deposit of two thousand hryvnias by agreement, but did not receive the transport.

Law enforcement officers found out that the applicant had stumbled upon a fraudster. The attacker posted more than one such message on the Internet about the sale of VAZ, GAZ cars and tractors of various modifications, which in fact he did not have. To attract buyers, he added photos of vehicles that he downloaded from the network to the information, and indicated below the market value, which is from 20 to 30 thousand hryvnias.

During the pre-trial investigation, the police found that nine more residents of Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kiev and other regions of the country responded to the message of the attacker.

During telephone conversations ,the "seller" first asked them for their region of residence, and then said that he lived in the same area, and promised to deliver the transport they needed, provided a small prepayment and fuel costs were covered. Of those who agreed, the offender "siphoned off" money several times a day: either his gasoline allegedly ran out on the road, or the battery broke down. Trusting citizens transferred funds to the account specified by the "seller" from 500 to 7600 hryvnias. In general, he caused them material damage in the amount of more than 31 thousand hryvnias.

After receiving the money, the attacker stopped communicating with the victims, adding their phone numbers to the "black list".

Law enforcement officers exposed the offender. It turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of Odessa. The police seized evidence of illegal activities, in particular a mobile phone and a bank card.

"As part of the criminal proceedings, we collected enough evidence and, under the procedural guidance of the Kiev District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa, informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 1 and 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, taking possession of someone else's property by deception, that is, fraud, in particular committed repeatedly. Such actions are punishable by a fine of UAH 51,000 to UAH 68,000, or correctional labor for a term of one to two years, or restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years, or imprisonment for a term of up to three years. The investigation continues," said Dmitry Savchenko, senior investigator of the investigative department of the territorial division of the police.
