A situation often arises when the user prefers to surf the Internet in incognito mode (private browsing). For example, if you are sharing your computer with someone (family, friends), you might not want to allow third-party views of the sites you visit or the files you download. In such cases, private mode (incognito) is a panacea, because all modern web browsers support it, which guarantees the confidentiality of users on the computer you used to access the Internet, because when you close your favorite browser, the data that identifies you will be deleted: browsing history, entered passwords, download list, cookies, cached files with a list of visited pages.
If you use incognito mode more often than usual, then this note will save time, since you can create a special shortcut that launches the browser directly in Private Browsing. At the same time, it is very useful for troubleshooting. Launching the default Google Chrome browser in “Incognito” mode 1. Right-click on the Chrome shortcut, then on “Properties”. 2. Find the "Shortcut" tab, there will be a special field containing the following line: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe"
3. Add “-incognito“ at the end of the line so that it looks like this: “C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe” -incognito 4. Click on “Save”. Likewise, you can run Chrome in guest mode if you add –guest. The next time you launch the browser, it will automatically launch in Incognito mode.
Now, whenever you click on this shortcut, Google Chrome will immediately launch in "incognito" mode. You can replace the previous shortcut with this one, or keep both on the desktop at once. Tip: The newly created shortcut will be the same as the Chrome shortcut, we suggest you rename the shortcut to “incognito”. To launch Chrome in an Incognito window Open the Chrome browser and click the wrench icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Click New Incognito Window and start browsing. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + N to open a new incognito window without going into the Chrome settings menu.
How to make Chrome start in incognito mode through the Windows 10 registry The method consists in editing the Google Chrome startup in the registry editor. For example, if you receive a link in an email and Google Chrome is set as your default browser, clicking on the link launches Chrome in Standard View.
