What is carding
Recently, the words "carding" and "carder" will surprise no one - more and more people are switching to this type of work and more and more companies are hiring such people as performers. But let's still figure out who a carder is and give this word a clear definition.

A carder is a person who is a specialist in a particular field of activity, knows how to do a certain job and does it to order. At the same time, he does not work in any company, but is a private contractor and his own boss. As a rule, carders find work via the Internet, posting their portfolios and advertisements on special carding exchanges online, or they are contacted on the recommendations of acquaintances, friends, and so on. The parties agree on the terms of cooperation, agree on the terms and cost of the work, and after the work is done, the customer transfers his monetary remuneration to the carder. In most cases, they do not meet with each other in person, all negotiations are conducted on the Internet (e-mail, social networks, instant messengers), and pay by bank transfers or electronic money.

Reasons to go carding
You should not blindly follow trends, you must first of all understand why you need it. What could be the reasons for a person to become a carder?

Freedom of movement
There are people who find it difficult to sit in one place, they constantly want to move, be on the move, discover new cities and countries, lead a very active lifestyle. Of course, for such people, being bound to a workplace will be very burdensome, and carding for them acts as a magic wand, without interfering with constant travel.

There are people who do not like frequent changes of places, but want to move to live in another country. For example, in a more pleasant and comfortable climate for yourself or in a more environmentally friendly place to maintain your health at the proper level. To find a permanent job in a new place, you need to learn the local language, draw up documents and so on, and carding eliminates this need and allows you to move without unnecessary hassle.

Freedom of work schedule
Working in an office, in most cases, you are connected with a strict work schedule, with the need to be at work from 9 to 17 or from 10 to 18 every weekday. This order of affairs can be difficult for you. For example, you have a small child and you need to pick him up from kindergarten at lunchtime and spend time with him. Or you prefer night time to daytime and want to work in the dark. Or vice versa, you like to get up very early, at 5-6 in the morning, and the office schedule breaks up your day in the most inconvenient way. Or maybe you want to go to the movies on Monday mornings for discount screenings? :)

All these problems can be solved by carding - you can work with maximum productivity at the most convenient time for you, the main thing is not to forget about the terms agreed with the customer!

Save time
It often happens that office work is not conducive to your productivity. If you are an experienced specialist and know your business well, then you will surely be able to efficiently cope with your affairs much faster than in the allotted 8 hours. And how many employees are allowed by their bosses to leave work earlier? In order not to sit around, you have to stretch tasks and gradually drive into the habit of low productivity.

Another common problem is transportation. It's great if the workplace is close to home. But after all, some people spend 2 hours a day on the road, and some more! Simple calculations show that with a daily 2 hours on the road, we lose more than 40 hours of our time per month! But you can spend this time with much greater benefit, for example, to be with your loved ones, do your favorite thing or hobby, or, in the end, just relax.

Carding saves you the trouble of wasting your precious time on the way to the office and gives you the opportunity to work as efficiently as possible, spending exactly as much time as the task requires.

If you want to work more - work, if you want to rest more - have a rest
Who ever regretted that the law only requires 28 vacation days a year? Surely not one or two people. And even these 28 days, not everyone will be able to use it at once - there are companies that do not let their employees go for more than two weeks in a row. What if you want to rest for two months in a row? Or three? Just not work, do some personal business, go on a trip around the world or live in nature without means of communication. How to allow yourself to fulfill one of these dreams?

The same is the case and vice versa - if you want to work more, proportionally increase your income and quickly earn the required amount to implement your ideas, will you have such an opportunity in the office? Your employer will not always want to pay you a higher salary, even if you will be of greater benefit to the company.

Carding, on the other hand, can give you the ability to plan your employment. If you want more orders - find and take more orders, earn more. If you are not chasing money and want free time, work less, reduce the load. If you want a two-month vacation - just plan it and earn the required amount. All in your hands!

How to go carding - step by step method
We found at least 4 reasons why you might want to become a carder. If this helps solve one of your problems, you need to act! If there is an understanding that carding is what you need and it will bring the desired benefits, the next reasonable question arises - how to become a carder, what needs to be done for this? In principle, there is nothing complicated here, there are no big secrets and secrets, everything is pretty obvious. However, I think that many people may find this information useful, so based on my personal experience, I made a step-by-step plan for the transition to carding.

Step # 1. Choose a profession
If you like what you do and you are not going to change your occupation, but just want to change your office job to carding, then it will be much easier for you, feel free to skip this point.

If you dislike your job and have not yet decided in which direction to move on, then the main advice is - do not tackle what you do not like. Don't try, for example, to become a programmer just because it's a common profession among carders. If you do not have a disposition for this, if you are not carried away by it, then, most likely, carding will become a real torment and its benefits will be offset by a dislike for the business you are doing. Or maybe you will only make yourself worse.

Be sure to approach the choice of the field of activity with the utmost seriousness. Remember what you like to do most in your free time, what interests and hobbies you have. Think about the profession in which it can be applied, at least partially. And choose the business that combines the maximum number of your hobbies!

Step # 2. Get a good education
So, you have already decided in what business you will develop, how you will earn your living. Now is the time to get the knowledge and practical skills necessary for this in order to be a competent specialist and apply for the title of a professional, because it is to such people that we ourselves want to contact when we need any service?

The first option is self-education. You can find special literature and articles on the Internet, watch training videos, try to figure everything out yourself. This method takes place and some people successfully use it, but still there is a very small percentage of them - self-education requires very great perseverance and hard work, iron willpower, which is far from everyone's strength.

An obvious plus of self-education is its low cost, it is often completely free, apart from the cost of Internet access. What are the disadvantages of self-education? First, this approach usually takes much longer. You can stumble in the same place for several days, trying to solve the next problem that has arisen, without seeing an effective solution due to your inexperience. Secondly, it is very rare to find really valuable and comprehensive materials on the topic in the open free access, usually only the basics are posted on the network, and deep knowledge costs money. And thirdly, not yet knowing the field of activity in which you have moved, your education will lack consistency and consistency. It will be difficult for you to understand what goes for what, where to start, and what is better to leave for later, and so on.

Therefore, taking into account all of the above, a more effective way to master any business is to seek help from professionals, to those who have already reached certain heights and are now sharing their experience with other people. Nowadays, you can find specialized courses on almost any topic. The main thing is not to get lost in this abundance and to distinguish a really worthwhile education from a superficial and low-quality one.

Look, first of all, at who is teaching the courses. It is important that these are active practitioners working in serious companies, or carders dealing with serious customers. The real professional will not report that he has “worked on many large projects”, but will show concrete convincing examples. Do not be afraid to ask the person who offers you educational services what he has achieved in the profession, what he can teach. And only when you feel that this person is an authority for you, you respect him and want to learn from him, feel free to sign up for courses. And do not spare money on this, in the future they will pay off with interest!

Also, be sure to pay attention to the practical part of the course. Nothing good will come of it if you stuff yourself with dry theory, but don't know how and where to apply it. The practical part must be and in many professions must take up most of the time. It's great if, in the course of training, you will already try yourself on real projects or at least on imitating real projects. Such practical skills will be invaluable, or maybe even you can put the first project into your portfolio?

Don't skimp on quality education and training, this is the most rewarding investment you can make. The knowledge and skills that you receive will always be with you and no one will take them away.

Step # 3. Do 2-3 jobs for your acquaintances
Hooray, you have found high-quality courses on your topic, successfully unlearned there, eliminating your ignorance by communicating with professionals and are now ready to rush into battle, start applying in real life what you have learned. But something is not visible anywhere in the queue of potential customers who are ready to entrust you with their business! :) And it is not surprising, because before starting to work with you, people will want to see your achievements, examples of your work, to see the fruits of your activity. And how to get out of this vicious circle, how to get the necessary experience and work in the portfolio, if no one trusts those who have no experience?

I suggest that you seek help from your friends and acquaintances. They will be able to help you at the beginning of your carding path. They, just like the rest, will not trust your experience, which you simply do not have, but they will trust your personality, which they know well! Open your social media friends list, go over it and think about who you know might benefit from your new skills. If you make sites, remember who has their own business and either does not have a site, or it has not been updated for a very long time. If you do your hair, remember who often goes to different events and likes to update their look often. Etc.

Then write or call this person, tell them that you now know how to do this and are ready to help in this. Do not strive to make money at this stage, agree on a symbolic reward or barter, but do the job as efficiently as possible. It is important for you to gain invaluable experience in order to show future customers not diplomas or certificates of completion of courses in the future, but to demonstrate real examples of your work. Acquaintances who will use your new skills are sure to be found. Who will refuse a new site or a new hairstyle? Maybe it will not be the best website in the world and not the best hairstyle in the world, but if you make them, as they say, with a soul, they will certainly delight a person and benefit him.

Step # 4. Collect a portfolio, get feedback and recommendations, start taking your first orders
If you have reached this point (not in reading, but in practice), you can already consider yourself a carder. You decided on a profession, got an education, got your hands on a few real projects from friends and now you are a competitive fighting unit in the labor market. Now you need to build a portfolio of those works that you have already done. It is not necessary to create a personal website for this, you can start from a page on a social network or even just from a pdf file.

Write there what you know how, how you do it, what the client will receive as a result, how much it costs and show examples of work already done. In addition, ask the acquaintances with whom you worked to write you reviews, support these reviews with a photograph of the person and a link to his social network account, this greatly increases trust. Show the resulting document (page / site) to several people, ask them to evaluate it with a fresh eye, find out what is not clear from what has been written, what causes mistrust. Refine these points. Let your portfolio be your business card, work on it, on its design, in the future it will work for you.

Based on personal experience, if you do 2-3 work conscientiously for your friends and acquaintances, they will definitely recommend you to someone else and you will receive a new order. This method of advertising is called word of mouth, it is one of the most powerful and well-working and beneficial to both parties. You know that your customer is a friend of your friend and you can trust him in matters of payment, and the customer, in turn, knows that you are an acquaintance of his friend and can trust you in matters of timeliness and quality of work. And at the stage of acquaintance and discussion of a future project, your recently made portfolio will be very useful to you.

Step # 5. Develop actively, improve the quality of work and the cost of services, look for new perspectives
If you like what you do, you will willingly do it and you will be good at it. If you hate your job, you will have no incentive to do it well, and your customers and your own reputation will suffer as a result. Therefore, it is so important to choose exactly the business that you like, that finds an internal response in you and which you do not need to force yourself to do.

With each new project, with each new order, you will gain more and more experience, learn more and more subtleties and nuances of your profession, become an ever stronger specialist. Don't forget to feed your knowledge - read thematic literature, listen to lectures and webinars, go to live events and conferences, and chat with colleagues. All this will allow you to get inspiration for new ideas, as well as keep up with the rapidly developing world. In carding there is no place to work "on the ditch", only loving and constantly developing professionals can live here.

If you stimulate and support your development, gradually making more and more complex projects, then your income level will grow in proportion to this. There are no limits to growth, in general, it all depends on your desires and intentions. Having worked like this for several years and having gained enough experience and knowledge, can you think about creating your own business, or start teaching other people your business, or gather a team and delegate work, freeing up time for something else? You decide!

Carding difficulties
At the beginning of the article, the advantages of carding were described in detail, and now, in order to be honest and dispel possible illusions, let's talk about the difficulties that we will face by choosing this path of development.

The need to be your own manager, marketer and accountant
Working as a performer in any company, you most likely were engaged exclusively in your own business, not thinking about where the clients come from, how they negotiate with them, how settlements take place, and so on. Now this burden falls on you. In order not to sit out of work, you need to constantly take actions to find new orders, as well as develop your communication skills so that those people who contacted you do not fall away at the negotiation stage due to the fact that you do not know how to communicate and find a common language ...

High requirements for self-organization
Leaving the office, you find yourself ... at home! At home, where you have your favorite sofa or bed, you can sleep until lunchtime, watch movies, read books, listen to music, walk your dog and a million other interesting entertainment. How do you find time for work with all this? How to give up the temptation to watch another interesting movie? You will need the ability to organize yourself, show willpower, at the right time abstract from the environment, concentrate and work. And also - to correctly distribute your load so as not to sit at work for days on end, when the deadline for the project is approaching.

Workplace problem
If in the office you were in an environment where everyone around you was busy with business, where there was a normal working atmosphere that promotes the right attitude and concentration, then on carding you lose this. Briefs, slippers, and soft bedding at home, if you practice this approach, will likely reduce your effectiveness to a minimum. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you separate the place where you sleep and where you work, and also do not work in the same clothes in which you sleep. A good option is to find a pleasant cafe, where there will be no loud distracting music and noisy visitors, and work there. If it's really difficult for you, go to the coworking space - this is such a special office for remote employees, carders and businessmen, where there is the same working atmosphere, serious attitude and good Internet.

Social life
If before you left home to get to work, spent time on the street, and in the office you had live communication with other people, then on carding, both of them disappear. To work, you do not need to leave your home, and communication takes place only via the Internet. Thus, you can easily kill your motor activity and live communication skills. Therefore, in order for a carder not to fall out of real life and ruin his health, you must remember to meet with friends and play sports! :)

Emergency insurance
As a carder, you are a company rolled into one, combining at least a manager, an accountant, a marketer and a specialist. And what will happen to your company if suddenly all these people (that is, you alone) fall ill or simply cannot get in touch? The work will stop and your clients will definitely not appreciate it. Therefore, it is worth making sure that you have a friend-acquaintance-colleague-partner who can do the same as you and to whom you can delegate part of the work in case of any emergency.

As you can see, despite all the attractive benefits, carding is not an easy thing to do. In addition to your professional tasks, you need to solve many more related tasks, organize yourself and your workplace yourself, plan your schedule, be ready to solve all the issues yourself. Carding makes rather high demands on a person, therefore, before applying here, carefully assess your capabilities and be prepared for difficulties and serious work! What is described here (the way to go to carding), the author of the article did last year himself in the field of web development. However, I am sure that this approach can help to become a carder in another profession. If you have any questions after reading, feel free to ask them in the comments!

Good luck! :)
