Even in an ordinary company, we can most likely identify a person who has been in a prison. We see by special habits, gaze, demeanor. The person in prison changes. And, alas, not for the better.
As soon as a person goes to jail, he experiences stress. Insulation. Camera. Here the self-consciousness of a person is changing, beginning to perceive the world around him as an aggressive environment. Depression, confusion, despair come, and life loses perspective. Already in the first days behind bars, when the usual way of life and familiar connections were left behind, the personality begins to change towards depression, hysterical and psychopathic behavior. Psychologists help the convict not to self-destruct.
There are five major changes to prisoners:
The feeling of suspicion and excessive caution is heightened. In their new (and for some, ordinary) environment - a pre-trial detention center, a colony - prisoners are always waiting for a catch, provocation from comrades in misfortune. The situation is aggravated by the fact that neighbors are not chosen here.
The fear of going to jail disappears. From this, the inability to cross the dangerous line is erased.
Behavior shifts towards basic instincts. In conclusion, the desires of the majority are monotonous and simple - to eat deliciously and get carnal pleasures. There are intellectuals disappearing in libraries, but there are very few of them. And this, as psychologists say, is often scammers and swindlers, and they read so as not to lose their professional acumen.
A persistent enmity towards law enforcement officers is being developed. It seems to be a paradox, but, as a rule, the prisoners are not themselves, but they are beginning to blame for all their troubles.
Difficulty adapting to a normal life. A person who has emerged from the thorn in most cases feels alien and unnecessary. This is especially pronounced in prisoners who have served long sentences.
