The Russian Federation will make changes to the list of emergency services for monitoring UAVs.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation gave an official response to the request of the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma from the "New People" Vladislav Davankov about the possibility of creating a special number for notifying about drones, Kommersant reports. The agency said that the Russian government agreed with his proposal and will change the resolution on the list of emergency services that should be available to communication users around the clock and free of charge.

According to Vladislav Davankov's plan, Russians who notice a flying drone will be able to call 112 (or another short number) and indicate its location. Further, the information will be transmitted to law enforcement and operational services for response. The goal of this initiative is to reduce the threat of damage to people and critical infrastructure of the Russian Federation from drone attacks.

"Now the departments responding to the UAV flight will be included in the list of emergency services. Calls to them will be free of charge. This will help track drones more effectively — which means it will increase people's safety, " the deputy speaker of the State Duma said.
