store not realize (if they not are agreed with the guy that tamper the pos 
)
bank realize and send tecnichs to inspection the pos, normally pol1ce is informed too and go with thechnics, sometime (depend how big is the damege!) police take pos to send to scientific department to take any fingerprint INSIDE it (outside every customer of shop can have touched it) an check if are from some knew ppl...
new pos is gived to shop and all ppl (owners of cards) fucked will be repayed by bank.
if the damage is big pol1ce can open investigation on the shop owner or on who use pos in the store even putting theyr phones under control to see if they have "bad friends"...
