The hacker, who hacked the Poly Network protocol on August 10, stole $ 611 million, but later returned the stolen funds, and was offered to become the main security advisor of the hacked project. Poly Network developers offered the hacker cooperation and sent him $ 500 thousand as a reward, which he had previously refused.

“Poly Network is not going to attract Mr. White Hat is legally responsible and is pleased to invite him to become our top security advisor. A $ 500,000 reward is on its way. And we don't care what he ultimately decides to do with this money, ”the developers wrote on Twitter.

As previously reported, the hacker broke into the company's protocol on August 10, but began returning the stolen the next day. This happened after the creators of the project explained to the attacker that he had committed the biggest theft in the history of the sphere of decentralized finance. This could provoke persecution by the authorities of many countries.

Already on August 13, the Poly Network developers received back all the stolen funds, with the exception of $ 33 million in USDT stablecoins, which were frozen by the coin's issuer Tether.
