Attackers have cooled the platform's hot wallets.

Hackers attacked a cryptocurrency gambling platform Stake.com and they stole assets worth $41.3 million. The platform developers confirmed the incident and stated that the hacked funds were withdrawn from the service's hot wallets in the ETH (Ethereum) and BSC (Binance Smart Chain) networks.

The situation is currently being investigated. Representatives Stake.com they claim that users ' funds and other wallets of the platform were not affected. All deposit and withdrawal operations are temporarily suspended.

It is unclear exactly how the hackers managed to gain access to the private keys of the wallets — whether the key was stolen from the developers or the vulnerability was exploited. The attack was carried out in two stages: first, $15.7 million was stolen, including 6,000 ETH and stablecoins, and then another $25.6 million, most of which was on the BNB Chain network and part based on Polygon.

Earlier it was reported that on August 1, the attacker made a successful phishing attack through a zero transaction and stole 20 million USDT. The fraud victim wanted to transfer funds from his wallet to another address. However, due to the actions of a fraudster, the money was redirected to a phishing address, the name of which was similar to the recipient's address.
