Did the hack affect the company's image?

Fujitsu has confirmed that internal computer systems were hacked, malware was installed, and customer data may have been stolen. This was announced in an official statement on the company's website on March 15.

As a result of an internal investigation, it was determined that the presence of malware was detected on several work computers. Further analysis revealed that files containing personal data and customer information may have been stolen.

However, details regarding the type of malware used, the time of hacking, the amount and type of information available to attackers are not disclosed. The company also said that at the moment there was no information about the abuse of customer data.

In response to the malware detection, Fujitsu immediately disabled and isolated the affected systems, as well as strengthened security measures, including improved monitoring tools. Currently, the investigation into the circumstances of the implementation and checking for information leaks is ongoing.

The company has already started notifying affected customers of possible data theft and reported the incident to the Japan Personal Information Protection Commission.
