The punishment for this offense provides for a fine in the amount of 3 million rubles to 5 million rubles, or in the amount of the salary or other income of the convicted person for a period of three to five years, or in the amount of 80 to 100 times the amount of the bribe with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years, or imprisonment for a term of eight to 15 years with or without a fine of up to 70 times the amount of the bribe and with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.

Now the head of the department has been detained, investigative actions are underway, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being considered.

According to the website of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the department, created in 2022, was headed by Colonel of the Internal Service Alexei Timchenko. The Cheka-OGPU found out the details of the criminal case of the head of the Digital Transformation Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Alexei Timchenko, who was arrested on Wednesday on charges of taking a bribe.

According to the materials that the investigation submitted to the court at the hearing on the election of a preventive measure, Alexei Timchenko took 1.5 million rubles and new smartphones (several iPhones) worth about 500 thousand rubles from his friend Sergei Putilin for organizing victories in competitions of certain companies. In particular, contracts for the supply of electronics worth more than 100 million rubles, means of protection against unauthorized access to information worth almost 200 million rubles and computers worth more than 340 million rubles are mentioned.

The documents submitted to the court indicate that Sergey Putilin solicited in the interests of two large supplier companies: Sovremennye Tekhnologii LLC and Ant LLC. Both have repeatedly cooperated with various customers, including law enforcement agencies. In this case, the contracts were concluded with the Main Center for Engineering and Technical Support and Communications of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, which was subordinate to Alexei Timchenko. Both companies are among the top 5 suppliers of SCIT&S and have repeatedly cooperated with the "digitalists" of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

It is curious that in the open court file you can find a certain Putilin with the same initials, who has been under investigation since September 2023 on charges of bribery. From the documents published on the website of the IGS, it follows that he pleaded guilty and entered into a pre-trial agreement.

The bribery case against Putilin was, according to court documents, initiated in November 2023, at the same time the entrepreneur was taken into custody.

Putilin pleaded guilty and entered into an agreement on cooperation with the investigation. In the spring of 2024, his measure of restraint was changed and placed under house arrest.
