Step-by-step explanations of complex mathematical problems.

Google introduces new features for solving complex mathematical problems: users can now get a step-by-step explanation or solution by simply entering an equation or integral in the search bar or taking a picture of the problem using Google Lens.

Updates to the search engine and the Lens app make it easier to find help with math problems. On the desktop, just enter an equation or type "Math Solver" in Google Search, after which the system will prompt you to enter a mathematical problem or choose from the suggested examples to see how it works. This feature will also be available on mobile devices in the near future.

Google Lens can now also help with geometric tasks, such as triangles, which solves the problem of describing visual tasks in words. In addition, thanks to progress in the development of large Google language models, the search engine is now able to solve text problems. The user only needs to enter a problem in the search bar, and they will receive instructions with steps that will help them solve the problem by identifying known and unknown values and providing the correct formulas.

Additionally, Google makes it easier to learn STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering, and math) in Search by adding 3D models and interactive diagrams for nearly a thousand topics in biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and related fields. For example, when searching for "mitochondria", users can explore an interactive diagram that provides an overview and detailed information about the components.
