The bank advises blocking cards to everyone who succumbed to the deception of scammers.
Uralsib Bank reported on its Telegram channel that on August 3, its social networks were hacked. The scammers posted a fake post offering a promotion. The purpose of the post was to steal bank customer card details. The bank recommends that those customers who follow the link from the fake post about the promotion from 1win and enter their card details block the card to protect their money.
The fake post appeared at 1:20 a.m. Moscow time. It was removed after 10 minutes. Now the bank finds out all the details and circumstances of the incident. The press service of the financial institution said that measures will be strengthened to protect and limit access to the management of the bank's social networks.
In March, an increased number of cyber attacks on Russian financial institutions was recorded. Several banks have experienced temporary shutdowns of their services due to DDoS attacks. In most cases, the attacks had low technical characteristics and were reflected by the means of protection of financial organizations.
