A hacker from Krasnodar infected computers in Europe and America with malware and stole bank card data.

A resident of the Krasnodar Territory was found guilty by the Temryuksky District Court of creating and distributing malware, as well as financing the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK*), which is banned in Russia.

According to the press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory, the man was engaged in the theft of bank card data of foreigners and transferred part of the funds of FBK. With the help of accomplices from Internet traffickers who distributed malicious files via email, the man infected the computers of citizens of Western Europe and America. For every thousand infected PCs, each accomplice received $250.

The defendant stored all the stolen information on his PC and made purchases on various platforms. Employees of the FSB of the Krasnodar Territory detained the man. The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
