The darknet has spawned another monster for advanced cyber fraud.
A new phishing tool called FishXProxy has appeared on the darknet, which greatly simplifies the task for cybercriminals. This set of tools was identified by researchers of the SlashNext Security platform.
FishXProxy offers hackers powerful features such as anti-bot configurations, integration with Cloudflare Turnstile, a built-in redirect, and flexible page expiration settings. This makes phishing accessible even to those with minimal technical skills.
Researchers note that FishXProxy allows you to bypass security systems and hide attacks. This set of tools is designed to create and manage phishing sites, which increases the chances of successful credential theft.
The report of SlashNext researchers emphasizes that FishXProxy is equipped with advanced anti-bot systems that filter out automatic scans, as well as a traffic management function that allows you to hide the true goals of links. Additionally, time-limited scams can be set to shut down after a certain amount of time, which puts pressure on victims to act quickly.
The kit also includes a cookie system that allows attackers to track users and adapt their attacks based on previous interactions. Integration with Cloudflare provides phishing operators with an enterprise-level infrastructure, which makes it difficult to detect and eliminate these attacks.
Hoxhunt CEO Mika Aalto commented on the spread of the malware, noting that such phishing kits reduce the barrier of entry for criminals with limited resources and skills. He stressed the importance of training employees and applying advanced security measures to deal with such threats.
