In Russia, the responsibility for illegal processing of personal data will be tightened. Such changes to the Administrative Code were supported by the government commission on legislative activity.
In particular, the penalty for violation will be up to 15 thousand rubles for citizens (instead of the current 6-10 thousand), up to 300 thousand rubles for officials (instead of 20-40 thousand), and up to 500 thousand rubles for legal entities (instead of 30-150 thousand).
For repeated such violations, the maximum fines will increase, respectively, to 30 thousand, 500 thousand and 1.5 million rubles.
Now the initiative is being prepared in the State Duma for the second reading.
