Through the Shodan search engine, you can find camcorders and routers that are connected to the Internet with default passwords. The creators of the new Insecam website went further and compiled a catalog of unprotected video cameras. On the site, you can select any country and watch videos from private video cameras that are located there.
At the moment, the catalog shows a stream from about 73,000 cameras. The largest number of open devices are in the United States (11046), South Korea (6536) and China (4770). For comparison, in Russia there were only 693 unprotected video cameras, Ukraine - 447, Belarus - 31.
The site's creators say that all of these cameras are connected to the Web with default passwords like 'admin: admin' or 'admin: 12345'. Many of them are installed in cafes, shops, industrial facilities, and bedrooms.
