The IDLE program will act as the basic security system for companies.

The FBI has launched the Illicit Data Loss Exploitation (IDLE) program to help companies reduce the damage from data theft. Under the new program, companies will deploy "false information" to trick intruders and corporate spies into stealing valuable information.

As reported by Ars Technica, IDLE mixes real corporate information with false data, giving it a credible look. Thus, not all the information collected by the criminal will be useful, and downloading false data will alert IT personnel of suspicious activity. According to the FBI spokesman, they help to generate "false data", but the agency does not store this information and receives it only with the consent of the company.

There is no guarantee that the program will be effective. False data should only be implemented as a basic security system for a company, as a smart attacker can analyze the data during an attack. According to representatives of the FBI, the program represents one of the stages in the creation of basic security systems for various organizations and enterprises.
