Robert Solway, nicknamed the āking of spamā for sending a huge number of advertising messages, received forty-seven months in prison in Seattle. He previously pleaded guilty to fraud, unauthorized distribution and tax evasion.
The sentencing lasted two and a half days. Prosecutors had sought between seven and nine years in prison for Solway, noting that he deserved a stiff sentence like no other spammer. Solway, in turn, apologized to the judge and his family.
When talking about Robert Solway's crime, we can't help but talk about the history of spam. Over the three decades of its existence, it has become the main load for mail servers and communication channels, and has also affected other methods of transmitting information: cell phones, messaging systems, and even video games.
