The organization that saved children from a concentration camp, itself was in the shackles of hackers.
The hacker group BianLian announced that it hacked the IT systems of one of the leading non-profit organizations in the world. Cybersecurity analysts from VX-Underground and Emsisoft, judging by the description of the organization on the BianLian website, suggested that the victim of the attack was the international charity Save The Children International.

Hackers reported that they stole 6.8 TB of data, including 800 GB of financial records, international HR files, personal data, email messages and even medical information, as well as data on employees and international activities. The victim organization operates in 116 countries and has revenues of $2.8 billion.
It is likely that if the ransom demands are not met, BianLian will divulge or sell the stolen information. A representative of the Save The Children organization said that the cyberattack did not have any impact on the organization's activities. The organization has notified law enforcement agencies and is working with external cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach.
Earlier, BianLian hackers made 300 GB of data from the French hospital CHU publicly available. The stolen data includes personal data, financial documents, and information about the hospital's medical staff.
In addition, the information security company Avast has released a free decryptor for the BianLian ransomware. The decryptor helps malware victims recover locked files without transferring money to attackers. The decryptor appeared about six months after the increased activity of the BianLian ransomware program. In the summer of 2022, it was used massively, and several well-known organizations were hacked.
