According to a study conducted by ESET in September 2019, the majority of users prefer pirated content to licensed content.
The respondents were asked to answer two questions in which it was possible to choose several answer options. So, answering the question “What content do you“ pirate ”most often?”, Many users indicated more than one type of content.
52% of respondents download "hacked" games, 43% - watch unlicensed films and TV series, 34% more often listen to music using illegal services.
At the same time, only 14% download books on "pirate" sites, and 19% usually install "hacked" programs. And only 9% of Internet users always pay for a license.
The second question concerned the reasons that prevent people from using legal content.
75% of survey participants are deterred by the high price, incomplete range of legal services (34%) and inconvenient payment system (16%). Another quarter of Internet users refuse to pay for a license for ideological reasons.
