Bitwarden is rethinking the security of sensitive data.
Bitwarden has announced the launch of a new product — Secrets Manager, which is a secret manager with end-to-end encryption for IT professionals, development teams and the DevOps industry.
The main goal of Secrets Manager is to provide a secure alternative to storing and transmitting secrets, such as API keys, user authentication certificates, database passwords, SSL and TLS certificates, private encryption keys, SSH keys, and others. A common problem in the industry is the leakage of these secrets as a result of cyber attacks or due to poor security practices during the development process.
The Secrets Manager service provides a solution to the problem of confidential information leakage, providing an easy and secure way to receive, transmit, and use secrets within the development team. In addition, the tool supports access permissions for individual users or groups. Thanks to its open source code, Secrets Manager provides a high degree of transparency and customization options.
The tool is available in three subscription options. The free version supports storing an unlimited number of secrets, supporting two users, three projects, and three service accounts.
The "Teams" and "Enterprise" options cost $6 and $12 per month, respectively, and offer additional features such as FIDO2 authentication support, automatic account creation, SSO integration, and advanced administrative capabilities.
Currently, Secrets Manager is integrated with GitHub Actions, but future versions are expected to support Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible. In addition, it is planned to expand support for programming languages and improve the access control system.
