Windows Backup is now an integral part of Windows 10 and 11.

Windows 10/11 users will no longer be able to remove the Windows Backup app, as it is now considered an integral part of the operating system. Microsoft developers claim that this is a full-fledged "system component" that cannot be removed from the OS.

Recently, the Windows Backup app has become mandatory for all users of Windows 10 and Windows 11, even for those who for some reason can not use it, for example, due to corporate restrictions.

Windows Backup requires a Microsoft account to work. In other words, Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Active Directory (AD) users cannot use the Windows Backup application to back up their data.

Microsoft Support said that they are aware of problems with system administrators and users related to the new system component, which cannot be removed or used in some situations. Microsoft developers plan to release a patch that will hide the application in the interface of Windows 10 Pro, Education and Enterprise, as well as Windows 11 using AAD and AD. In other words, the Windows Backup app will still be on the system, but users won't see it.
