Just 18 hours ago, a new deepfake project called "Deep-Live-Cam" broke into GitHub trends, which allows you to replace the face in real time in a couple of clicks, while getting quite good picture quality in contrast to the primitive roop, which I wrote about earlier. DLCam managed to score 11.3 stars and was already forked 1,500 times. Ex-twitter has millions of views.
According to the author's idea, "Deep-Live-Cam" should be used for entertainment purposes: creating avatars, animation, and so on...

The program has built-in verification, which does not allow the program to work with inappropriate materials, but does not restrict the use of NSFW, sensitive materials such as military personnel, etc. This project can be closed or contain watermarks on the output, if required by law.
Users of this software must use it responsibly and comply with local laws. If the face of a real person is used, users are advised to obtain consent from the relevant person and clearly indicate that this is a deep fake when posting content on the network. The developers of this software are not responsible for the actions of end users.
- reported in the project description on GitHub.
Something tells me that all this will not be limited to entertainment purposes. It is highly likely that scammers, callers, and people who use deepfakes for face verification (KYC) on various online platforms will be interested in the project.
It is likely that the military will also pay attention to the use of such technologies to create propaganda videos.
The entry threshold for beginners to use such technologies is noticeably reduced. There are more and more deepfakes every day.
You should pay more attention when communicating with someone online. This is especially true for companies and government organizations. Voices are already well faked, and if they still connect technologies like Deep-Live-Cam, then wait for trouble. This is the new reality.
