The country's authorities are concerned about data leaks and damage from cyber espionage.

Chinese authorities have expressed concern about the increased activity of foreign cyber spies targeting critical industries and companies in the country. China has warned of a serious threat to information and network security on a national scale due to data leaks caused by targeted hacker attacks.

It is noted that attackers abroad are actively exploring networks in search of uncorrected vulnerabilities in order to get into systems and get hold of important information. An example is the case of an enterprise engaged in military-civilian integration, where hackers were able to introduce malware and steal production and customer data due to an untimely software update. The attack caused serious damage to the development of military equipment and technologies, putting the country's military and technological security at risk.

In another case, a large state-owned enterprise fell victim to cybercriminals who used network equipment that was not turned off after testing to access the system and steal critical data affecting the well-being of the Chinese population.

The Ministry also pointed out the vulnerability of software suppliers and IT personnel with administrative rights. In one case, foreign spies attacked the computer of an email operator who was in the habit of writing down passwords on the computer, which allowed attackers to gain access to the internal correspondence of thousands of operators of systems related to key objects.

The Ministry has previously warned about attempts by foreign intelligence masquerading as software developers to introduce malicious programs to obtain data from the national defense sector and high-tech enterprises.
