Credit card details were stolen from people in Australia and the US as part of a scam to purchase tickets on Emirates Airline, a court heard.
Dubai Court of First Instance was told how a Pakistani salesman allegedly stole the details to buy plane tickets costing Dhs73,339 to fly to his home country.
However, the 48-year-old defendant denies charges of forging documents and embezzlement.
According to court records, an official in the airline said staff discovered discrepancies so called Dubai Police.
The official said: “The credit cards belonged to residents in the US and Australia. He was calling the airline and asking to book tickets to Pakistan and then gave us the credit card details and we issued the ticket.
“The defendant and another man traveled on our planes 43 times in this way. Sometimes they would travel in the morning to Karachi and then return later the same day.”
The court heard he would also arrange tickets for other people to travel.
An Emirati policeman said: “He is part of an organised gang who specialised in booking tickets.”
The defendant was arrested by a policeman who approached him to book a flight. The case has been adjourned.
