A courier and two cryptocurrency traders were detained in Minsk for aiding telephone scammers. BelTA learned this from the Interior Ministry.
Two elderly Minsk women applied to the Oktyabrsky district police department. They believed the scammers and lost about Br70 thousand in the equivalent.
Operatives detained a 20-year-old courier who, on the instructions of an Internet curator, took money from retired women. He said that he found a part-time job in the network. He was promised a quick and legal income.
Further, the police identified 21-and 20-year-old Minsk residents, to whom the defendant turned to transfer cash to cryptocurrency. Despite the lack of knowledge in trading, they responded to the offer in the messenger about earning money on the digital exchange. Thanks to the actions of the law enforcement officers, the young people did not have time to transfer the entire amount to the curators. Cash has been withdrawn and will be returned to the deceived women.
