Australia is creating a top-secret storage facility for cooperation with US and UK intelligence agencies.

Australia is building a top-secret cloud storage facility to share intelligence with the US and UK. Andrew Shearer, Australia's head of national intelligence, spoke about this at an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. According to him, the storage will be integrated with the existing cloud infrastructure of the allies.

He emphasizes: "Integration will radically change the work of intelligence services and, I think, will open up a joint space for effective teamwork."

Shearer is convinced that all members of the Five Eyes alliance (Five Eyes - the intelligence alliance of the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand) really need to focus on agreeing on common standards.

The head of Australian intelligence also noted the importance of cooperation between the countries in the field of artificial intelligence, which, in his opinion, will increase the efficiency of the special services. At the same time, Shearer doubts that civil servants will quickly adopt innovations. After all, such specialists are used to relying on themselves when working with data and may be afraid that the program will miss something important.

Therefore, it is necessary to realistically assess the capabilities and limitations of AI, which will also require close coordination and exchange of experience.

In addition to cooperation within the framework of the Five Eyes alliance, Australia is actively establishing cooperation with the special services of other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. In particular, according to Shearer, the Australian special services assist the intelligence agencies of Southeast Asian countries in assessing the risks associated with climate change.

Japan has said that it is transforming its state structures, building their work in accordance with the priorities of the West and the alliance. In Five Eyes, the initiative is approved, because it also strengthens the coordination of intelligence activities in the Asia-Pacific region.

European powers now have many common priorities with Australia, given the unstable political situation in the world.
