On September 15, a large-scale police operation took place in China to catch game cheaters. As a result, the authorities managed to arrest 469 criminals pretending to be girls so that victims spend money on them in online games.

Following a preliminary investigation, a number of companies were involved in the scheme. Attackers entered into agreements with game publishers, after which they tricked victims into titles, pretending to be girls. The journalists of the publication did not say what kind of games they were talking about.

To make it more credible, the companies asked their female employees to communicate with victims in audio and video chats. The scheme was also used for money laundering by representatives of the underworld.
