The Ministry of Education of Guatemala officially announced a cyberattack that took place last week. As a result of the attack, the ministry's IT systems were damaged. However, the data of students and staff was not affected.
The warning also says that immediately after the attack was detected, measures were taken to implement support programs, pay salaries and continue the normal operation of the institution. Currently, work is underway to fully restore the functioning of the systems and prevent similar incidents in the future.
