Two carders were detained by the anti-cybercrime officers of the Vitebsk region together with their colleagues from Gomel, with the support of the OMON by force. BelTA learned this from the Interior Ministry.
The detainees are Homel residents aged 17 and 20. The eldest of them at the end of 2023 found an illegal part-time job, the essence of which was to buy expensive goods in online stores. Payment for them was made with compromised bank cards, the details of which were transmitted by the "employer".
The second, a minor, was acting as a figurehead who was ready to provide his personal data. This was necessary for placing orders and receiving goods. Then the goods were resold using various online platforms.
Half of the amount was intended for the organizer of the criminal scheme, the rest was shared by young people.
Investigators opened a criminal case for embezzlement of property by modifying computer information on a large scale. It is being established whether the defendants were involved in similar crimes and whether there were other accomplices who made out purchases for themselves.
