Hackers stopped vital services of medical institutions.

TransForm, a service provider founded by five hospitals in Canada to manage their IT systems, supply chains and payments, was hit by a cyberattack that affected the company's operations. As a result, patients experienced delays in treatment, and some appointments were postponed.

TransForm said that the firm's information systems are experiencing problems due to a cyberattack. The organization encourages patients who have appointments scheduled for the next few days to be prepared for the fact that appointments may be postponed to another date. It is not yet known whether any patient information has been leaked.

Affected hospitals:
  • Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the region's largest acute care hospitals;
  • Hotel Dieu Grace – comprehensive medical, psychiatric and rehabilitative care facility;
  • Erie Shores Healthcare – a major medical center in the region;
  • Hospice of Windsor-Essex-Elderly care facility;
  • Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is a universal community hospital.
A joint statement from the hospitals confirms that appointments may be rescheduled or patients may be offered alternative options. Those who have previously received medical services in these institutions are advised to be vigilant and suspicious of reports from unknown sources or unexpected notifications from medical institutions.
