The ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes received a task from Hieron II, king of Syracuse. Hieron believed that his golden crown was not made of pure gold, and asked Archimedes to find out if gold contained silver impurities.

The scientist struggled with the problem for several weeks and finally decided to give himself a rest and take a bath. Having filled it with water and immersed himself, Archimedes noticed how as much water flowed out of the bath as the volume of his body. And he understood ... A crown of pure gold and of an alloy must displace different amounts of liquid.

This insight made Archimedes jump out of the bathtub and run naked through the city streets shouting: “Eureka! Found!"

Try the Archimedes method if you are struggling to solve a difficult problem. Many scientists have confessed that the best ideas did not come to them during hard work or contemplation, but when they allowed their brain to relax a little.

The British found it out and called the method of three "B": bus, bed, bath. A bus, a bed, a bath are typical places where we are distracted from active mental activity and allow ourselves to contemplate the road, bubbles of foam, or just look at the ceiling. This is how the subconscious turns on - it is it that helps to find a solution or gives a new idea.
