Unauthorized access caused alarm in the global market.

Volex, a British manufacturer of power and data transmission cables, confirmed this morning that unauthorized access to its data was detected after the technological infrastructure was hacked.

The company said it "took security measures and immediately stopped unauthorized access to its systems and data" as soon as it detected the attack.

Specialists from third-party organizations were involved to find out the nature and scale of the incident. They are also implementing an incident response plan.

Despite the incident, all the company's resources continue to work with minimal interruptions, and trade with customers and suppliers continues as normal. Thus, financial losses from this violation are either not expected, or they will be very insignificant.

Volex manufactures power cables, plugs, connectors, electric vehicle charging components, consumer cable harnesses and power devices, data center power cables, high-speed copper interconnect cables, and more. A sudden shortage of such products may well cause problems in many industries.

Volex has production sites in Eastern Europe and Asia, and revenue for the last financial year was over £720 million ($879 million). After the release of the cyber attack statement, the company's shares fell by 3%.

Simon Chassard, Claroty's chief commercial officer, stressed that such attacks can lead to disruptions in global shipments and months of production delays, which negatively affects the company's reputation and finances.
