Due to the incident, the owner of The North Face, Vans, Dickies and Timberland can barely handle processing orders.

The American corporation VF Corp, which owns such well-known brands as The North Face, Vans, Dickies and Timberland, was subjected to a serious cyber attack. According to a report prepared for the US Securities and Exchange Commission , on December 13, attackers penetrated the company's IT infrastructure, encrypted part of the systems and stole confidential data, including personal information of employees and customers.

While VF Corp's retail stores continue to operate, office systems and e-commerce infrastructure have been affected. This seriously disrupted the company's business processes and ability to fulfill orders. According to experts, the financial damage may amount to hundreds of millions of dollars.

VF Corp immediately engaged third-party cybersecurity specialists to investigate the incident and minimize the consequences. The company also works with federal law enforcement agencies to identify and bring those responsible to justice.

VF Corp has not yet disclosed details about what data was stolen and whether the incident is related to the activity of ransomware. However, experts still believe that later the attackers will declare themselves and make demands.

According to researchers, the attack on VF Corp may become one of the largest in the American business sphere in 2023. The incident was compared to the attacks on Clorox and MGM Resorts, whose damage is estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.
