"The main suspect, a 29-year-old man, was blown up while recording a video instruction. His 24-year-old accomplice was seriously injured," a Europol spokeswoman told reporters, adding that the surviving criminal was arrested.
According to Europol, the police came to the gang in February 2020 after they were contacted by the authorities of the German Osnabrück, reporting suspicious purchases of ATMs. As it turned out, they were purchased by criminals for their training center. Men recorded video tutorials showing how to effectively blow up an ATM of a particular model.
