Automated pentests identify all weaknesses before hackers do.

Positive Technologies has introduced PT Dephaze, a new product designed for automated penetration testing (pentest), which opens up a new segment of the cybersecurity market for the company — breach and attack simulation (BAS) systems and automated penetration tests. According to the company's estimates, the volume of this market in combination with the classic pentest is 5 billion rubles.

PT Dephaze is designed for secure and managed testing of internal infrastructure. The product simulates attacks and builds chains that show possible access routes to critical systems. This allows organizations to assess vulnerabilities in a timely manner and respond effectively to potential threats.

Positive Technologies' analysis shows that even companies with highly developed information security (IS) systems conduct security assessments very rarely, usually no more than once a year. At the same time, internal penetration tests in 100% of cases showed that an attacker could seize full control of the infrastructure. Moreover, in 63% of cases, this did not require complex technical skills, which emphasizes the relevance of automating such attacks.

Companies, regardless of the level of maturity of their information security systems, are interested in constantly assessing their cyber resilience and regularly checking the configurations of installed security tools. In 2023, the volume of the security assessment market amounted to 8 billion rubles, and the demand for such solutions continues to grow.

PT Dephaze uses machine learning to automatically conduct pentests, allowing organizations to verify the security of various infrastructure segments without restrictions. To launch, it is enough to install the software on the server, select a goal and wait for the results. The product visualizes the attack route and helps specialists prioritize vulnerability remediation.

It is planned that PT Dephaze will be in demand not only among large companies with a developed information security system, but also among organizations that are just starting to implement cybersecurity processes. End users can be specialists from red teams and security monitoring centers (SOCs).

The product was presented at the Positive Security Day 2024 conference, and the launch of the commercial version is scheduled for February 2025.
