A mysterious AI browser is about to be released.

The developers of the Arc Search browser have confirmed plans to release a version for the Android operating system. The announcement took place in response to a question from a user on the Threads social network. Arc Internet representatives have published a short video showing the application working on a device similar to the Google Pixel and announced an imminent release.

Available on iOS and recently released on Windows, Arc Search is a mobile browser with a minimalist design and AI-powered features.

One of the main functions of the browser is "Browse for Me". It summarizes information from multiple sites on a single page. Some publishers criticize this feature, believing that it reduces the motivation of users to visit original sources. However, the principle of operation is similar to what Google Gemini or ChatGPT AI assistants offer.

Other features of Arc Search include:
  • Automatic archiving of old tabs
  • Built-in ad blocker and tracker protection
  • Optimized for mobile with quick keyboard access and reading mode

In the published video, the interface of the Android version of Arc Search demonstrates the convenient switching between tabs and the location of controls at the bottom of the screen, which distinguishes it from the side menu in the Chrome browser.

The exact release date of Arc Search for Android has not yet been announced. The new browser is expected to be able to compete with existing alternative browsers on the Android platform due to its feature set and approach to web surfing.
