Russian iOS apps get new payment options.

In response to a fine from the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Apple allowed Russian developers of iOS and iPadOS apps to use third-party payment systems to sell their digital goods and services. The company also lowered its commission from 30% to 27% for such purchases.

As reported by iPhones.ru Apple changed its rules for the Russian market after it was found guilty of violating antitrust laws in July 2022. The court ordered the company to pay a fine of 1.2 billion rubles for forcing developers to use their payment tool and prohibiting them from informing users about alternative payment methods.

Now the company has allowed developers to add links to third-party payment systems to their apps using the StoreKit External Purchase Link Entitlement (RU) permission. It allows developers to leave a link to their site, which contains information about the possibility of paying using other payment systems.

The company also reminded that all references to third-party payment systems must comply with its security requirements, which are included in the manual.
