A carder from Atlanta, Georgia, was sentenced to four years in federal prison for stealing half a million dollars from the account of a woman from a neighboring county. The Augusta Chronicle claims that 38-year-old Markvaldis Antwon Logan (Marqualdis Antwon Logan) will also be forced to repay a significant part of the stolen money.
In September 2020, a resident of the District of Columbia noticed suspicious movement of funds in her accounts. The FBI officers involved in the investigation found out that the fraudulent account somehow gained access to the account, and then began to cash out and transfer online checks to other bank accounts. The promotion of these accounts led the security forces to Logan, who was arrested only two years later during a trip to the Virgin Islands.
Logan made a deal with the investigation and pleaded guilty not only to eight counts of bank fraud, but also to an earlier crime. From the account of another victim, carder withdrew about 100 thousand dollars, gaining access using the documents of the deceased spouse of the woman. In addition, the American managed to top up his account for 20 thousand dollars thanks to covid benefits.
