The new version analyzes asset information using artificial intelligence.

Positive Technologies has introduced a new version of MaxPatrol VM vulnerability management system — 2.7. The new version implements the smart asset search function, which is based on artificial intelligence and allows users to enter text queries without using the PDQL language. In MaxPatrol VM 2.7, Positive Technologies specialists have optimized the performance of PDQL queries, which is especially noticeable when working with large installations with more than 10,000 assets. Thanks to these changes, the system works faster, and the inventory and search for vulnerabilities, including current ones, are carried out at an increased speed.

MaxPatrol VM 2.7 users will be able to use the beta version of the smart search feature to sort assets by vulnerability, identify the right groups, and perform other queries. This innovation lowers the threshold for entering the system and reduces the cognitive load on information security specialists. Previously, the search was performed through PDQL syntax, but now standard queries can be entered in Russian in text format, select the desired query and start filtering. The smart search function can be enabled when updating through the installation file. However, for more complex tasks, such as analyzing accounts with a password change in the last month, knowledge of PDQL is still necessary.

Positive Technologies notes that the new version of MaxPatrol VM includes advanced system capabilities and smart asset search thanks to AI features. The main goal is a gradual transition to process automation, increasing productivity and product efficiency. Now, if previously it took specialists several days to learn the PDQL language to get started, then with the new version, they can immediately start analyzing the infrastructure using simple queries after the implementation of the system.

Also in the MaxPatrol VM version, the MaxPatrol Host Compliance Control (HCC) 1.7 module has been updated, which now supports such standards as VK WorkMail, MongoDB, Logstash and the ALT Linux operating system. These innovations allow you to control the implementation of key security requirements for this software and devices. A tool has also been added to monitor the state of PostgreSQL and the system itself, which allows you to quickly respond to possible failures. MaxPatrol VM 2.7 is also compatible with the latest versions of Debian 11 and 12.
