Body and mind are inseparable. These are two words for the same person. Depending on their character, mental experiences can be transformed (transformed) in the body either into a feeling of warmth, space, light and lightness, or into coldness, crampedness, darkness and heaviness.
It is the last forms of "presentation" of the energy of negative emotions in the body that are the object of influence in this technique. Its essence boils down to "objectifying" the sensations arising in the body and working with them as with an object.
Oddly enough it may seem at first glance, but the effectiveness of this technique is often amazing. It is assumed that the images that arise during the "objectification" of mental experiences are a kind of messengers of deep unconscious processes that "feed" the feelings that bother us.
Working with them is a way of directly influencing what cannot be accessed by the logic of our consciousness. It is carried out in an altered state in the following sequence:
First. Assess your bodily sensations associated with negative experiences - how do you feel? (heaviness, emptiness, cold, compression, numbness ...).
Second. "Locate" the place of these bodily sensations - where do you feel it? (in the head, chest, stomach, back, arms, legs ...).
Third. Create a visual image of what you are feeling - what might it be like? (a spiky ball, a lump of mucus, a cast iron stove, a ball of snakes, mud, a shard of ice ...). After the sensation in the body begins to be perceived by you as an object, thing, or even a being, the sensation becomes a message.
Fourth. Mentally take this image out of your body and place it in the space in front of you.
Fifth. Transform the image from negative to positive. Change the shape (round off sharp corners, smooth out the protrusions), colors (repaint aggressive colors into calm ones, create a harmonious color scheme), make it light, warm, pleasant to the touch, accompany with a sound that gives you pleasure ...
Sixth. Return the changed image to yourself and dissolve it in the depths of your body. Feel how your experiences have changed.
The image is the language of the unconscious. Its function is to concentrate energy. The character of the image determines the quality of energy. By changing it, you change the energetic basis of the experience, that is, its very essence.
