Almost every third camera is connected to the face recognition system, and all traffic cameras automatically recognize vehicle license plates; violators of traffic rules receive appropriate fines, the head of the department said.
The Minister noted Moscow's success in implementing video surveillance. Over the past 10 years, the number of registered street crimes in the capital has halved, and the number of carjackings has decreased by 10 times. At the same time, the crime detection rate doubled due to the use of surveillance cameras.
