Malefactors under the guise of a bookmaker company accepted bets from citizens. In the future, they did not fulfill their obligations to pay out profit and did not return the invested funds either. It is established that their bank accounts received almost 400 thousand hryvnias from 18 affected citizens.
The illegal activities of the criminal group were exposed and documented by the investigators of the investigation department of the GUNP in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The police found that in early 2023, the attackers rented a room in Kryvyi Rih, equipped it with computer equipment and organized a "koltsentr". To do this, we recruited about 20 young men and women who deceived people under the guise of accepting bets from a betting company.
On November 8, authorized searches were conducted at the places of residence of suspects and employees of the "koltsentr" in Kryvyi Rih and in Kryvyi Rih district with the participation of employees of the special police regiment. According to their results, almost 9 thousand dollars and 23 thousand hryvnias, 2 cars, 31 mobile phones, computers, laptops, bank cards, drafts, as well as 2 traumatic pistols and an automatic rifle with cartridges were seized.
Now seven men have been served with notices of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). On November 8, the defendants were given preventive measures in the form of detention.
