Cyber police detained a 34-year-old man suspected of Internet fraud in the Turkestan region.
The suspect, having won the trust of the victims and promising an increase in funds, issued online loans in their names. He spent the money received on personal needs. During the inspection, his involvement in 87 cases of fraud was proved, as a result of which the victims suffered damage of more than 337 million tenge. Currently, the suspect has been arrested.
The police also identified a 22-year-old young man involved in Internet fraud. He was detained in Almaty.
The police found out that the suspect created fake pages on the social network, offering furniture assembly services, took orders from victims and took possession of their money. At the moment, his involvement in four facts of fraud in the Turkestan region and in 18 cases throughout the republic has been established. The investigation is ongoing.
It is worth noting that these crimes were solved on the first day of the "Anti-fraud" operation. In general, in addition to the above cases, the police of the Turkestan region solved five previously committed crimes during the day of the event and seized 18 units of counterfeit products.
