Employees of the Zheleznogorsk police proved the guilt of a local resident in three episodes of fraud totaling more than 750 thousand rubles.

In March of this year, the call center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city of Zheleznogorsk received applications from three elderly women who reported the theft of money under the pretext of helping relatives in trouble.

The testimony of the victims was very similar – a call to a landline phone, a crying female voice and a conversation with the "investigator": "Your daughter was the culprit of a serious accident, the victim is now in intensive care." Fraudsters convinced elderly people that they urgently need to collect a large amount of money, which will be transferred for treatment to a non-existent victim. Confused, the victims of fraud collected all their savings and gave them to the arriving courier. Only then did the applicants call their families back and make sure that they were all right. All the victims knew about this scheme of deception, but they acted "on emotions" and obediently fulfilled the requirements of the scammers.

Soon, on suspicion of committing crimes, operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Zheleznogorsk were detained by an unemployed local resident born in 2001. He confessed to the police that he had deceived for the sake of "easy money". I saw a part-time job offer in social networks and agreed to the specified conditions. "Employers" gave zheleznogorets detailed instructions, carefully monitored his visits to victims and even paid for a taxi if the man did not have money. Three times the convict came by order of his accomplices to the apartments of elderly women, took their money and transferred it to the specified accounts, keeping part of the stolen amount as a reward, thus earning about 75 thousand rubles.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated and investigated criminal cases against him on the grounds of crimes provided for in parts 2 and 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud". The court, having considered the materials of the criminal case, found the 22-year-old Zheleznogorets guilty and sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
