Employees of the department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Adygea, with the strong support of SOBR fighters of the regional department of Regardie, stopped the illegal activities of a 20-year-old resident of the city of Maykop, suspected of unauthorized access to computer information and fraud.

It was previously established that in September 2023, a young man purchased a new mobile subscriber number, which previously belonged to a 40-year-old man, but was blocked due to its long-term non-use. Using this SIM card, the attacker used the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services to restore access to a previously existing account by using the phone number.

Having received all the necessary access codes, the young man entered someone else's personal account without authorization and, using the personal data available there, issued several microloans totaling 36 thousand rubles. The malefactor disposed of the proceeds at his own discretion.

During the search, about 20 SIM cards and several plastic cards of various banks issued to him and his acquaintances were seized from the defendant.

The investigation of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Maykop initiated criminal cases on the grounds of crimes under Part 2 of Article 272 and Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. Currently, police officers are checking the involvement of this person in other possible facts of illegal activities, as well as identifying citizens affected by his actions.
