In confirmation of the growing popularity of mobile payments among small and medium merchants, 40% of small businesses in the United States reported accepting payments via mobile card readers attached to a smartphone or tablet. This is reported in the report of the research company BIA / Kelsey.

Mobile technology also plays a key role in driving business to the market. 32% of SMEs use some form of mobile advertising for promotion, up from 28% last year. In particular, the survey results show that mobile technologies are widely embraced by professional services, as well as home and retail businesses.

“Mobile payment platforms are gaining more and more popularity among small and medium-sized enterprises, 40% of those surveyed said they accept payments using mobile mini-terminals connected to a smartphone or tablet (for example, PayPal Here, Square, etc.)”, - said Steve Marshall, director of research at BIA / Kelsey. "Another 16% plan to add this capability within the next 12 months."

We will remind, at the end of last month it was reported that eBay and PayPal expect growth in the volume of mobile commerce and mobile payments to $ 20 billion by the end of 2021.
